What we do at Ruby’s

We are a socially and environmentally conscious organic coffee company. Our mission is to build an interconnected community of coffee growers, baristas, and coffee drinkers.

We work directly with the small coffee growers of India and bring their amazing and unique coffee to market. We ensure our growers get amazing rates, and we work with them to improve the quality and quantity of their crops.

At the other end, we work with extremely passionate baristas, train them extensively on both the technical and theatrical aspects of coffee. And elevate them to make the best possible cup of coffee, and educate the customer.

And finally, we specialize in brewing coffee and running bespoke coffee programs, with customized beans, menus, and drinks for businesses, and the most epic of a cup of coffee for our coffee drinkers!

We believe that growers and the baristas are the stars at Ruby’s. And working together they create magic for the coffee drinker.

You will be

Running the coffee lab. Cupping and evaluating different coffees. Quality assurance for production coffees. Developing brew profiles for various brewing methods and tastes. Working on coffee recipes and menu management.
Barista. We pride ourselves to be amazing brewers. We will train you to be a stellar barista with superior technical skills and knowledge, and the ability to engage with customers. You will be out in the field as part of events that we participate in, be in charge of the commercial end of the coffee lab at our head office, and support field baristas by rotating into their duties or be their able second at our store-in-store locations.

What you need to bring to the table (must-haves)

A burning passion for coffee. If you don’t think coffee will be your life, don’t apply
3+ years of work experience as a barista or equivalent PGDQM course
Willingness to learn and master what we teach you about the coffee industry
Ability to work long hours, without management, and under pressure
Good conversation and people skills, in particular, English

Would be cool if you also had (good to haves)

Prior experience in developing coffee recipes
Pairing coffee with food and developing coffee products
Good internet skills
Good computer skills, including Google suite, and or Microsoft suite
